The Sacramento News & Review Art Project

I had a blast painting this SN & R rack for their art project.  I chose eyes because they not only represent our grand human curiosity about all things new (which is what brings us to the News & Review rack every week) but also because eyes share two amazing things with humans as a whole:  they are stunningly beautiful, but also, I must say, more than a little bit creepy.  

This project also inspired me to keep painting the creepy things, and thus the title card for my new show.  

I also just found out that this rack was placed in front of the gorgeous News & Review building on 20th, between J & K streets, and I can't help but feel positively giddy about that.  (yes, I used the word giddy, and I stand by it.)
