Letting Go Of Baggage

This piece is about Baggage.  And how it doesn't leave you alone.  It weighs sooo heavy in our hearts and minds.  So I made this piece in an attempt to project mine all out of me and leave it behind in the clay...
...and it turned out sooo much better than I had hoped!  And just creepy enough...
Only my second attempt at glazing and it all seemed to click.  Although it worked out in spite of me.  This glaze, MoonDust, is supposed to be very black and purple and coppery matt.  And it turned out very golden and rainbowy and satiny awesome.  My raku guru Gary thinks he got the raku kiln (an 1800 degree garbage can in an alley) a tad extra hot, that may have done it.  I hope I can recreate that...cuz I got it home and immediately broke it.
Aaaaaaahhhh letting go....
